The Star in Frisco is one of the most uniquely Dallas things in all of DFW. It is the official world headquarters and practice facility of the Dallas Cowboys and it also happens to be a fully functioning entertainment and lifestyle district that anyone can visit any day of the year. You do not need a game ticket or a media credential. You just need to show up.

The development opened in 2016 on a 91-acre campus in Frisco and has continued to grow into one of the more ambitious mixed-use projects in the entire Metroplex. There is a hotel a performing arts venue a grocery store restaurants and an outdoor plaza built around the practice fields where the Cowboys actually train. It has the energy of a campus that takes itself seriously and delivers on it.

    Where In Frisco

The Star is located at 1 Cowboys Way in Frisco, Texas 75034 off the Dallas North Tollway near Warren Parkway. From Dallas proper it takes about 30 to 40 minutes depending on traffic. Parking on the property is free in the surface lots and generally easy to find unless there is a major event happening. The area around The Star has continued to develop with nearby retail and dining expanding the district beyond just the Cowboys campus itself.

The Dallas Cowboys Museum and Experience

Inside The Star you can visit the Dallas Cowboys Museum which showcases the team’s history through memorabilia displays Super Bowl trophies and interactive exhibits. Admission to the museum is $20 for adults and $12 for children. The building that houses the museum also contains the Cowboys corporate offices and overlooks the indoor practice field which you can view from glass windows on certain floors. It is the kind of access that feels closer than you expect to actually being in the organization’s world which for football fans is a genuinely cool experience.

    Eating at The Star

The dining options at The Star have expanded since opening and now include a solid range of choices. Tupelo Honey brings its Southern comfort food concept to the property. There are also casual options including a beer garden and outdoor dining spaces that make the most of the campus setting. Budget around $20 to $45 per person for a sit-down meal. During Cowboys training camp and organized team activities the area around the practice fields fills up with fans and food options in the outdoor areas make it easy to stay all afternoon.

Events and Programming at The Star in 2026

Ford Center at The Star hosts concerts community events and performances throughout the year. The outdoor plaza is used for watch parties movie screenings and seasonal activations. During Cowboys training camp in August which is open to the public for free admission the energy at The Star is as high as it gets all year. It is a crowd experience unlike anything else in the region. Check the The Star Frisco website for a full calendar of public events in 2026 so you can time your visit to something worth planning around.

Frisco has become one of the fastest-growing cities in the country and The Star is central to understanding why the area has attracted so much attention and investment. If you have been watching the dining and lifestyle shift happening in Frisco and Plano The Star is a good anchor point for understanding how that growth has taken shape.
